“We're thrilled to offer SpongeBob fans the opportunity to celebrate their 25th anniversary in their local language,” Dhillon Khan, executive vice president, Studios & Creative Services (Africa), Comedy Central, Nickelodeon said in a statement.
Spongebob The film is based on the life of SpongeBob, a yellow sponge character who lives in Bikini Bottom in the Pacific Ocean and works as a cook at the Krusty Krab restaurant.

“This is the first time that a Nickelodeon show will be dubbed into Afrikaans. The 'Nick in Your Language' project celebrates cultural diversity and reflects our commitment to inclusivity in children's entertainment,” Khan said.

The Zulu and Afrikaans versions of SpongeBob will premiere on NickToons, DStv channel 308, Monday to Friday at 8:00am (CAT) from 17 June, and will re-air at 5:00pm (CAT).
