The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said all complaints regarding the elections were investigated and the findings communicated to the political parties that had filed the complaints.
IEC Deputy Electoral Commissioner Masego Chebuli was referring to confusion surrounding the recent update of the results dashboard for the national and provincial elections held last month.
This update was made to accurately reflect the regional strength of political parties and ensure fair representation.
The Umkhonto weSizwe party contested the results of the national and provincial elections.
Former President Jacob Zuma's party has appealed to the Electoral Tribunal, filing an urgent application to have the results annulled.
“The results and seats published on June 2nd have not changed. What has happened in the meantime is that for the purposes of clarity, we have changed the way we project the published results to make it easier for those who want to access the results. We have combined the votes for a party in the regional vote with the votes for that party in the national compensation vote and added them up. Previously, it was hard to navigate the system because you only got the National Assembly results and when it came to the National Assembly elections you had to go down looking for the regional results,” says Chebli.
