The Democratic Alliance (DA) has suspended newly sworn-in Member of Parliament (MP), Renaldo Gaus, with immediate effect, pending a disciplinary hearing.
The party said a video circulating on social media showing Gouse using foul language has been found to be genuine and not fake as initially suspected.
Gouse will now face disciplinary action from the party's Federal Legal Enforcement Committee.
The 16-year-old video clip shows Gauss going on an explosive rant, using the “k” and “n” words and calling for the killing of black people.
In a non-stop two-minute rant, Gouse refers to former ANC Youth League president and current EFF leader Julius Malema singing “Kill the 'f', kill the 'B'” and asks how that works.
The issue resurfaced after he was sworn in as an MP on Friday, with Parliament saying it was up to the DA to address the issue as the MPs' code of ethical conduct cannot be applied retrospectively.
In response to Malema's comments, he claims the ANC said it would discuss the matter with him.
Gouse implied that Malema has not been fired or disciplined. Jokingly, he answered his own question: “Nothing will happen to him.”
He suggests that he thinks what would happen if he went out on the street and got 50 white people saying “Kill K” and “Kill N.”
In the rest of the video, he lashes out about the injustices of being “white” and not being able to find work in the country.
A petition with thousands of signatures was launched calling for Gouse to be removed from Parliament, but he recently apologised, adding that he regretted his actions.

Some of the videos I posted 16 years ago (2009) when I was still a student have been recycled and posted on social media over the past few days.
I mentioned this snippet in 2016 and again in 2020 when I was approached by the media after it was posted on social media…

He joined the Democratic Alliance in 2012. He rose from ward councillor on Nelson Mandela Bay Council to become the Democratic Alliance's spokesman for economic development, tourism and agriculture in Nelson Mandela Bay.
In a recent Facebook post, he posed in front of a parliament banner while thanking his supporters and speaking of his heartache.
This is it. Thank you all for your support. Also thank you to everyone who is suffering from chest pain. pic.twitter.com/PC1XmfZ21i
