Lord Trill publicly accused his senior colleague of severely sabotaging his musical career.
The Amapiano singer revealed in her Instagram Story that a man she calls “Grootman” has been preventing her from working with other artistes and releasing songs.
Lord Trill has expressed his dissatisfaction, alleging that “Grootman,” whose identity has not been revealed, has been a constant obstacle in his career path. According to Lord Trill, “Grootman” has engaged in conduct that has hindered his career growth and opportunities.
This is not the first time the musician has spoken out about being exploited by an unidentified man.
Social media users have speculated that Trill could be talking about DJ Maphorisa.
In a series of shared posts, Sir Trill revealed that he has worked on songs titled Heavy K, Professor, but some of the big name artists have been ruled out of the collaboration.
“So I'm releasing this song for you guys. This black dude, 'Grootman' is keeping artists from releasing this song. He has caused 2 artists to stop releasing songs. Uisma Buti. Are you so scared of boys younger than you? Afraid of who I'm becoming,” the musician wrote.
Lord Trill further stated that he would not obey the President's orders, and would rather quit music than do so.
“Close the door all you want. A. The fact remains, I know who you are and I will never respect you or
I'll kiss your ass. I'm not a kid who'll kiss your ass or take your bullshit. I'd rather quit than kiss your ass. You're so scared of what I'll become without you. Now I get it. You're a crazy man.
Sir Trill said the mogul has been working with Heavy K on a song titled, “I Want to Be Yourself” which is his new song.
“I just realized you wrote the same song lol. Same song title. You were scared that I'd be him. Scared that one day I'd be a better you,” he said.
The allegations point to deeper issues within the industry, where power dynamics and behind-the-scenes influences can significantly affect an artist's trajectory. Lord Trill's bold statements highlight the challenges artists often face, including manipulation, control and conflict that can hinder their progress.
Fans and fellow artists are eager to see how this situation unfolds, reacting with a mixture of support and curiosity. The music industry, and the amapiano genre in particular, is built on collaboration and mutual support, so this kind of disruption is especially damaging.
