Some people in Limpopo are eagerly awaiting the announcement of their new cabinet by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is expected to soon announce the members of his seventh new government under the Government of National Unity (GNU).
In his inaugural address, President Ramaphosa stressed that the results of this year's general election expressed public dissatisfaction with the government's performance.
The people believe that the synergy of the GNU Cabinet will steer the country in the right direction.
“I think the government will perform better because we will have people from different parties. The ANC will be held to account. I expect change to come because ministers work for the people. I don't see them working for their peers. I've never been more hopeful. I think a lot of the issues will be resolved this time.”

Meanwhile, political analyst Enock Maponya says the fact that markets reacted positively after MPs were sworn in last week points to a better future for the country.
“The economy will be stable. In fact, the value of the rand has been stable since last Friday. The new cabinet will certainly make the rand stronger. But on the other hand, there is the challenge that the president has to get all the parties that are affiliated to the GNU on board. Forming that government will not be easy. The DA has said it has agreed that the ANC will hold 60% of the posts, the ANC will take 30% and other parties will take 10%. That means the other parties will share 5%. How will they make that happen? Because politics is a game of power.”
