Enoch, political analyst Maponya Political parties represented in the Government of National Unity (GNU) say ministerial posts should be allocated proportionally according to the number of votes they received in the May 29 general election.
President Cyril Ramaphosa Nearly two weeks into his term, he is yet to announce his GNU cabinet.
Maponya He believes the delay could have been avoided if the President had taken his decision based on the performance of each party during the election.
“I think the delay is necessary because the 10 parties that make up the Government of National Unity have the people's vote. What the parties should do now is hire a neutral mathematician to calculate exactly how many posts the groups will have. For example, if there are 30 cabinet posts, the ANC will have 18, the DA nine and the other eight parties three. So it's easy to decide the number of posts based on the number of votes received.”

Meanwhile, some Limpopo residents have mixed reactions to the delay in taking office. Ramaphosa Appoint a new Cabinet.
Residents say the delays are adversely affecting services.
“Our observation is that there are many political parties wanting government positions and that is the reason for the delay. What has become evident in this election is that people are no longer interested in serving the people but are interested in their own selfish interests and becoming ministers. The reason why government information is delayed is because of the arrogant attitude of the DA and Helen Zille. We have seen letters demanding this and that position in the cabinet. So the reason the President is delaying here is because he wants to feed the white man's ego. He wants to feed the racist ego.”
