The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng last night said it was disappointed that the provincial executive announcement had been delayed yet again.
This comes after negotiations between the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) again reached an impasse.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi is due to announce today the people who will fill the MEC roles in the provincial unity government.
Aluko Ngobese of the Gauteng IFP said: “We are very disappointed. People in Gauteng are anxious. They want their government to function. Service delivery issues abound. We also want to appeal to the ANC and DA to find each other as soon as possible.”

New Cabinet
Meanwhile, the IFP in KwaZulu-Natal has welcomed the appointment of several of its senior members to the new cabinet in President Cyril Ramaphosa's seventh administration.
Party leader Velenkosini Hlabisa has been appointed Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), while Deputy Leader Inkosi Mzamo Buthelezi is the new Minister of Public Service and Administration.
IFP spokesman Mukuleko Lengwa has been appointed deputy transport minister, while the party's treasurer, Narend Singh, is the new deputy minister of forestry, fisheries and environment.
IFP president Thami Ntuli says these members have the expertise needed for new developments.
“With the IFP playing a role in key posts in Parliament, we have a plan to resolve the issues facing South Africans and we can express the vision for our country that we inherited from Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi,” Ntuli says.
