Musician Drum Pope is on a mission to make history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the most digital singles released by a musician in a year.
To beat this record, DrumPope would need to record and release over 1,000 songs in less than a year.
talk CitizenHe said he was determined to achieve this goal despite facing major financial challenges.
“This project is large and requires us to be in the studio every day. The daily costs of studio time, engineering, travel, food and everything else weigh heavily on us,” he said.
But DrumPope said brands like AMPD Studio, MTN Callertunes and Mackie have lent a helping hand.
“AMPD Studios offers state-of-the-art recording facilities and technical expertise essential to creating music at an unprecedented pace.
“MTN Callertunez – MTN supported this initiative as a key partner, ensuring South Africans could take part in this important event by making the release available exclusively as MTN Callertunez,” he said.

Why 1,000 songs?
Speaking about what inspired him to set out on such an impressive record, Drumpope said he wanted to push the boundaries and leave a lasting mark on the industry.
“After several years of contributing to the industry and drawing inspiration from DJ Sbu's record-breaking radio show, I felt I had to raise the bar even higher,” he said.
“My goal is to have my name in the Guinness World Records book, among other incredible achievements.”
DrumPope got his break after producing Lady Zamar's album King Zamar.
He has since worked with other top artistes including Mzekezeke, DJ Sbu, Bucie, Oskido with Kalawa Jazmee, Bongo Maffin, DJ Zinhle and Zonke.
