South African star Letoya Makhene has announced that she has signed a record deal with Ntethe Global Effect.
After a long hiatus, the multi-talented sangoma is returning to her first love, music.
The deal with the new record label was signed in Bryanston, Johannesburg on Thursday 11 July.
Letoya has signed with Ntethe Global Effect, a multi-faceted entertainment company founded by award-winning musician and music executive, Ntethelelo Mposwa, simply known as Ntethe.
The company is published by Universal Music Publishing Group. Letoya said, “Working with Nese has been both a blessing and a challenge because he has pushed me beyond my limits as a vocal producer.”
Speaking about her new chapter, Letoya continued, “Signing with Ntethe Global Effect is a dream come true. It's amazing to finally return to what I was born to do and work with a team of professionals who have the same goals as me. I believe Ntethe Global Effect is the company that will take my music and brand to the next level.”
Letoya is excited about her next album.
The first single from her upcoming album is called “Abantu,” an Afro-soul song decadently layered with the sensual vibes of Maskundi music with an unmistakable '80s sound.
The message of this song is extremely relatable and music lovers will fall in love with Letoya as she takes us into what can only be described as uncharted territory, giving us an intimate glimpse into a side of her that we have never experienced before.
