The highly anticipated historically inspired series will premiere on Mzansi Magic on Sunday, July 14, after winning a court battle to stop it being broadcast.

Ndlovu, the show's creator and executive producer, said: Citizen He said he is looking forward to his debut.
“I'm excited. I'm very happy. I feel like Africa's time has come. It's a shame that it's only been 30 years since we became a democracy that we're able to tell the African story. We should have done this a long time ago.”
“Not only that, we are telling a woman's story. Queen Modjadzi is on the ground telling her own story. We are living in the time of Queen Modjadzi,” Ndlovu said.

Strength, wisdom and mental fortitude
Speaking at the premiere event at Montecasino on Thursday night, Ndlovu said that when they were making Queen ModjajiThey had one main purpose.
“We wanted to impart a deeper understanding and appreciation of African traditions to future generations and people around the world. Queen Modjadji's story is one that represents strength, wisdom and spiritual power,” he explained.
He said it would provide audiences with an opportunity to experience an important part of African history.
Ndlovu said to ensure authenticity, the production team employed local artisans to create indigenous artefacts.
“I believe this film has had a positive impact not only on the visuals but also on the people of Balobedu.
“These stories that we tell have been passed down to us by our ancestors. They are not ours. That is why we must be very careful and sensitive in how we tell the stories,” Ndlovu said.
Queen Modjaji to be broadcast across Africa
The series will be broadcast in several African countries including Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique and Ghana.
Nomsa Philiso, CEO of MultiChoice's General Entertainment division, emphasised the importance of sharing these stories across the continent.
“On Sunday, we will not only be premiering in South Africa, but also showcasing the power of MultiChoice and taking the show across the African continent.
“When we talk about heritage, we always say that to understand the future, we must acknowledge our heritage. Otherwise, if we don't know where we come from, we will be really confused. This is a further step to ensure future generations are well informed,” Filiso said.
