Lekau Sehoana made the statement after it was reported that he and his family are now homeless.
In a statement released on social media, the businessman explained that he had rented the house in Waterfall Estate for his son, but his soon-to-be ex-wife had rented the apartment to someone else, so he decided to keep the house but evict the people living there.
Drip's CEO clarified that reports that he is bankrupt and homeless are not true.
“It has come to my attention that the media is reporting that myself, my soon to be ex-wife and our son have been evicted from Waterfall Estate. The news is factually untrue and intended to divert public attention from DRIP's 5th anniversary,” he wrote.
He also revealed that he and his estranged wife are heading for divorce and that he has been denied visitation with his son.
“Firstly, I have not lived with my soon to be ex-wife since 2021 and have not been able to see my son. I had rented the property to my soon to be ex-wife to provide a home for my son. Secondly, I was previously notified by my landlord that the police were seeking access to the property to assist in the investigation into the murder of former DRIP MD, Glenda Ndlange. When police arrived at the property, they discovered that she had sub-let the property to someone I do not know without my or the landlord's consent. This is a total breach of the rental agreement,” Lekau Sehoana wrote.
“For the reasons stated above, I have decided to terminate my tenancy agreement. The divorce proceedings are ongoing and several attempts have been made on my part to reconcile and expedite the divorce but to no avail. My legal representatives have advised me not to make any further comments or statements regarding the divorce and other matters incidental thereto.”
The past three years have been filled with the joys of growth and the darker side I told myself I’d never reveal to the public.
But every time we did something great, we had to see the backlash, and that's what slowly led me to here.
I can't wait for this to be resolved and finished. pic.twitter.com/oAv7ZeaHsG
