Pearl Thusi posted a video defending Miss South Africa finalist, Chidinma Adesina, which trended today.
The South African actress and DJ kept her cool in the video, urging Mzansi to understand that the model was born in South Africa and is therefore eligible to take part in the Miss South Africa pageant.
However, everything Pearl said was ignored and many reacted to the video by attacking her and accusing her of chasing fame in the Miss SA furore.
Below are some reactions:
“Pearl Tusi Her celebrity status is fading, but she still has the power to capture our attention. Nigerians are so envious of South Africans that they claim to have started the amapiano genre. If we allowed everyone to claim South African citizenship, a Nigerian would be president.
“Pearl Tusi It’s an old story about Njolofina and I was really surprised that she didn’t step up to defend this Kwelekwele.”
“lol, Pearl Tusi We know this kid just wants the attention he always deserves.”
“Hey Pearl TusiYou are not defending South African women of colour like us who fought against Bantu education, but you are defending women who are so dishonest as to fly the Nigerian flag instead of ours.”
Pearl Thusi, are you okay? pic.twitter.com/onhNBv33Qg

Pearl wanted to be a trend but had nothing to offer us.

South Africans expect more from idiots like Pearl Thusi… This girl has no talent or insight in any matter. Her showbiz career is built on the colour of her skin… If Pearl was a darker skinned girl she might have been the former a long time ago… https://t.co/pz2AIwNbG1
