Chidinma Vanessa Adesina has more than 14,000 opponents against her taking part in the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant.
The model made it as a spectacular finalist and is speculated to have a shot at winning the competition despite not being favoured by many South Africans.
Africa Facts Zone shared screenshots of the signed petition, which has over 14,000 signatures, but the petition has since been removed from the site.
The post, which has now been deleted, garnered a lot of attention and reaction on Twitter.

“Imagine an African hating his fellow African. This continent is not ready for greatness yet. To hate your fellow Africans, damn it. Shocking!”
“The petition can be deleted but she still won't get our very own Miss South Africa crown….But we thank her and Nigerians and other Jolofinas for promoting Miss South Africa in such a wonderful way. All around the world, Mzansi is heartbroken.”
“Personally, Nigerians will not accept this in their own country. Her father is Nigerian, not South African. An outsider cannot represent another country. Imagine a Ghanaian child becoming Miss Nigeria and her name is Adjoa. Welcome to Miss Nigeria. Miss Adjoa Kojo. Nigerians will not accept this. It's the same as Nigeria that did not allow Gbadebo to rule in Lagos. It's double standards.”
“She may not have won, but she made a statement, and that's a big win to me.”
“Ethnic hatred is one of the biggest problems in Africa and it's a problem that will never end. Yet these same Africans are condemning racism against people of colour. It's disgusting.”
“She's not going to win anyway. She's just being used to promote the show because she knows how Nigerians and South Africans behave…”
