The father of Miss South Africa finalist Chidinma Vanessa Adesina gave an interview amid the controversy surrounding his daughter.
The man explained how he settled in South Africa and his nationality.
“I'm Nigerian, my wife is South African and I spent 10 years in South Africa,” he said.
He also claimed his children are South African and revealed how he met his wife, whose nationality is a matter of debate.
He continued: “I met my wife in England. She's South African. We decided to go to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. We didn't have any children at the time. That was my first experience of going into South Africa.”
Chidinma's father said he married his wife in South Africa on a tourist visa.
“I married my wife in South Africa on a tourist visa.”
“It's called dual citizenship. They are both. They are Nigerian children with all the rights they have as South Africans.”
The video of the interview went viral on social media, sparking further outrage.
So, Chidimma Adesina's dad was interviewed and honestly, I'm more interested in it than before.
Chidimma's father says they came to South Africa on a “tourist visa” and got married in 2010. Somehow, Chidimma, aka Chichi, is 23, which means he was born in 2001.
