Chidinma Vanessa Adesina is facing further cancellations by South Africans following an investigation by the Department of Home Affairs.
The investigation uncovered superficial evidence of alleged fraud committed by Chidimma's mother.
A majority of South Africans on social media are agitated that the findings have further tainted the character of the Miss South Africa finalist.
On Twitter: Chidinma must fall. A trend with many reactions to the Ministry of Interior's statement.
“Imagine how hard life must have been for all those innocent women whose identities were stolen by Chidimma's mother! I hope she sue the Ministry of Interior after 23 years of suffering,” wrote a Twitter user.
“We may seem distracted at times, but we love our country. The pride we have doesn't come from the Department of Home Affairs, it's in our blood. South Africa is us and we are South African. You can insult us as much as you want, but we will always fight to protect our identity and traditions.” #ChidimmamustFALL,” the user wrote.

One of the defining characteristics of South Africans is that they know that where there is smoke, there is no fire. #MissSA2024 #Chidimamustofall https://t.co/IckBBXtnJ4

“Patriots, starting tomorrow we will attack all celebrities and politicians, including those whose supporters have defended con artists and identity thieves. Our hatred is a long-term investment. “#ChidimmamustFALL,” wrote another.
