Musa Mthombeni has revealed the truth about rumours surrounding how he funds his trips with wife Liesel Lawrie.
Since getting married, the couple has been visiting various countries on vacation.
Musa and Liesel's trip has become a hot topic on social media, with some criticising their fun-loving behaviour.
A few months ago there were rumours that Musa had won a R32 million lottery jackpot and could be sponsored for a trip.
The doctor took to Instagram on Wednesday to slam the rumors and further explained his reasons for traveling to other countries with his wife.
“Liezel and I have been traveling avidly for the past year not because we want to see the world, but because the world wants to see us. It's not our fault that embassies around the world are calling us and asking us to spend money we don't have to jumpstart their economies. A global recession is coming,” he wrote.
“Right now, you are hearing and reading rumours that we have won the lottery. I categorically deny these rumours and allegations and state they are lies and fake news being circulated only to tarnish my reputation and name. The reality is that we are simply financially irresponsible. Plain and simple. Mashonisa ngapa, 2 pot system withdrawal ngare. We are ending the YOTV pension fund. We want a fresh start. Iyangena yapuma!”
“If you hear these rumors, please treat them with the same contempt you have when you hear any other false story about who my father is. My father is relaxing at a crowbar, tending to his granddog, Cashew, while my parents pray and hope that no one sits in the third seat of row 53.”
