Makhazi has reportedly refused to accept R150 000 from organisers of the Phalaphala Royal Heritage Festival.
The award-winning musician is a loyal talent who performs at the festival every year, but this year things look different.
Following numerous rumours and reports circulating that Makhadzi had refused to accept the money, he took to social media to clarify the situation.
“I am not going to Parapara Royal Heritage as apparently it is not in the budget. I am setting the facts out so that my fans and followers do not say that I have deliberately refused to attend or that I am being arrogant,” she wrote.
“I have come to realise that false rumours have already been spread about my name in this regard. I am still the Mahajji of the country under the motto 'No pay, no work and vice versa',” she said.
“As someone who is organising my one-man show at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on December 21, I really believe in the fact that organisers do not need to book artistes who do not have the right budget,” she added.
Makhazi will be performing a one-man show on the same day as the festival. The show will take place in December and tickets are almost sold out.
