The South African Music Awards (SAMA) have announced the nominees for the prestigious Motsepe Foundation Record of the Year award and the RiSA Audiovisual (RAV) Music Video of the Year award.
Now in its 30th year, SAMA continues to celebrate the very best in South African music.
Nominees for this year's Motsepe Foundation Record of the Year Award include standout tracks released between April 15, 2023 and April 14, 2024.

Nominees include Tyler ICU's smash hit “Mnike” featuring Tumelo.za, DJ Maphorisa and others, as well as Tyra's chart-topping single “Mnike.” water.
These tracks are competing for the coveted award alongside other popular songs by artists such as DJ Stokie, Kabza De Small and Mellow & Sleazy.
RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi congratulated the nominees for the Motsepe Foundation Record of the Year and RAV Music Video of the Year awards, stressing the importance of artist recognition, especially as SAMA marks its 30th anniversary.
He also emphasized the role of fans in the awards ceremony, encouraging them to vote for their favorites to make the event truly memorable.
“It is with great pride that I salute all the artists who were shortlisted for the Motsepe Foundation Record of the Year Award and the RAV Music Video of the Year Award. Having an artist recognised is an important and meaningful honour and we continue this tradition in our 30th anniversary year. It's great to see how the music and artists have evolved over the years.
