Chidinma Adesina surprised some people after she arrived in Nigeria a few days ago.
The South African-born model will finally represent Taraba at the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant after withdrawing from Miss South Africa 2024.
Upon arriving at the Nigerian airport, Chidinma was given a warm welcome.
In a video shared on social media, the 23-year-old said she was excited to be in her father's country for the first time in 20 years and revealed that her goal is to win Miss Universe Nigeria.
“I'm very happy to be on my father's land and I want to experience more of the place. It's been 20 years since I last came here. I want to learn more about the culture and where I come from,” she said.
“My goal, of course, is to be crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, but I also have an impact that I want to share with everyone. As a woman who has obviously faced challenges, I want to use my experience to bring people together,” Chidinma added.
“I am so happy to be in my father's country and I am looking forward to experiencing more. It's been 20 years since I last came here and I am looking forward to learning more about Nigerian culture and my true home.” Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adesina
