Shishanghe's Spiritual Journey
Beyond Shishange’s business, his spiritual journey is equally important.
She said her path to becoming a traditional healer was influenced by the dreams of her late grandmother, who guided her to embrace the calling.
Shishange said he feels no conflict in balancing his roles as a traditional healer, pastor and shebeen owner.
“I have prayed to God about this venture. The shebeen will not interfere with my church responsibilities. I am doing both roles to the best of my ability.”
As a member of the Church of Christ, Shishange said her church has embraced her multifaceted life.
She said her business has been well received by church members, some of whom visit her store from time to time.
“My church knew all about my past and accepted me, they never judged me.
“I'm not the only one. There's a woman in another branch who runs a shebeen. Some of the parishioners even come and visit me for a drink or two.”
