Well-known DJ and sangoma Tumi Motsoeneng, popularly known as Gogo Sukoteni, and her estranged husband Monde Shange are grappling with the heartbreaking loss of their three-year-old son, Monde Junior, who passed away on Monday afternoon.
Gogo Skhorteni posted an official statement on her Instagram page on September 2nd, saying that the baby passed away on Tuesday morning.
Family members confirmed the heartbreaking news, saying: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mondo Junior Shange. Mondo Junior passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at 6pm at Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital.”
The family further asks for their privacy as they navigate this profound loss and asks for understanding and compassion during the grieving process.
“We ask for your understanding and compassion to give them the space they need during this difficult time of grieving,” the statement read.

Gogo Skhoteni has previously spoken publicly about her son's health struggles, including his premature birth after seven months of pregnancy and the subsequent surgery he underwent.
Mondo Jr. was born without a tube delivering food to his stomach and relied on machines to feed him.
Despite her health problems, Gogo Skoteni remained faithful, claiming that “God is testing the wrong woman.”
In December, Gogo Skoteni got a tattoo of his son on his arm in memory of him. Mondo Jr. had been hospitalized for about 18 months at the time.
“I got this tattoo to bond with my son and show my love for him because it's difficult to express my feelings when he's in a hospital bed all day. One thing about my son is that he is always smiling. His smile heals people. I go to the hospital to comfort him but in the end he comforts me,” she said. Tushisa LIVE.
The family's journey has not been without its challenges, with Mondo Jr. spending almost two years in intensive care.
Ms Skoteni's relationship with her ex-husband has also been tumultuous, with the relationship repeatedly breaking off and on again due to allegations of abuse.
As they mourn the death of their young son, Gogo Skoteni and Mondo Shange face an unimaginable emptiness.
In times of unbearable grief, families find comfort in the comforting words of Psalm 23:4: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of darkness, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
