Father's Concerns
Chicco has previously described Longwe as a drug addict.
of Manelou, I miss you. The singer admitted to the press that his sons had committed the theft while he was on a business trip to the United States.
“Longwe, whom I got rid of some time ago because of his drug addiction, jumped a high wall, entered my studio and stole some of my things,” Chikko said.
Speaking to eNCA outside court on Wednesday, Chicco expressed concern over his son's behaviour, saying he believes the best place for him is prison.
Chikko said Longwe became a thief because of his drug problem.
Chikko said Longwe had been using drugs since he was 18 years old and accused his son of stealing from others, including family members.
“As a parent I had to do that. I couldn't just stand by and watch my son go astray and steal, especially from my family,” he said.
“I have warned him many times but he shows no sign of repenting or changing.
“So we decided that maybe the best place for him would be prison. Maybe he'll come back a better person,” he said.
