Mkhize accuses Masila of destroying her personal property, including more than 90% of her jewellery and plants.
The bitter dispute between actress Gutsina Mkhize and businessman Tevin Masila has taken a more dramatic turn after Mkhize revealed that he had been growing marijuana in his backyard for therapeutic and spiritual purposes.
The dispute is over the ownership of a house in Glenvista, south of Johannesburg.
The dispute came to public attention after Mkhize took to social media to plead for support while renovations were being carried out on the house while she and her family still lived there.
Since then, things have taken a turn several times with both the businessman and the actress unable to compromise on who should vacate the premises.
“There are weeds growing everywhere in my garden.”
Mkhize had accused Masila of destroying her personal property, including more than 90% of her jewellery and plants.
“Tevin and his friends threatened me, pulled my laundry off the clothesline and dumped it in the dirt. They destroyed 95% of my plants. They also threw out beads and other jewelry materials,” she alleged.
Masila countered that he was simply cleaning up the garden.
“The yard was in a terrible state so we had to clean it up, which included removing the marijuana plants and some of the vegetation that was in the back,” he said.
Mkhize had previously denied having marijuana in his garden after Masila's revelation. The Citizen He said he had simply “cleaned” the garden after noticing its unpleasant state.
“I have weeds everywhere in my yard, in the front, in the back, everywhere. As you know, I don't smoke weed, but I grow the plant not only for its looks but also for its medicinal and spiritual benefits.
“Yes, there were a few weeds in the backyard that may have died along with other plants. I am not crying because of the weeds but because of other spiritual plants which are not easily available or can be cultivated,” Mkhize said.

The marijuana plant at the center of controversy
Masila claimed he had removed marijuana plants from the backyard of the disputed house, which prompted Mkhize's revelation.
“What you see in my recent photo is the front yard of my house and the plants you see there are not weeds or marijuana,” Mkhize said. The Citizen.
She said she wasn't angry that Masila had destroyed her marijuana plants, but was upset that he had also destroyed other of her most valuable plants.
“You see, all the succulents and other plants that were growing inside those tires have been totally destroyed,” Mkhize said.
