Sol Fenduca has expressed frustration with Amapiano's low streaming numbers.
Radio hosts have taken to social media to express concern over Amapiano Music's low streaming numbers in recent months.
He said that despite artists continually releasing quality albums in the genre, the numbers don't reflect their success.
Questioning the current state of the music industry, he wrote: “What is the secret to the success of album releases these days? Amapiano in particular. Obviously it's not just about good music. Lots of people are releasing great albums but the streaming numbers aren't growing. What are they doing wrong?”
His tweet sparked numerous reactions from Twitter users, with various explanations and insights offered.

DJ Simza responded: “Unfortunately, sometimes South Africans decide who to support based on hype and not on merit.”
“The piano market is saturated. 10+ songs and albums released every week. It's too much. When do we have time to enjoy music? We can't realistically listen to new music every day. Most people are stuck on certain artists,” wrote Twitter user El Polo.
