Staff found him hilariously trapped with his face shoved into a bright blue croc shoe.
A chubby cat named Kuroshik, which means “breadcrumb” in Russian, was trying to escape from a diet center in Perm, Russia, when his comical escape plan went awry when he got stuck in a shoe rack. It's over.
Weighing 17kg, the big cat was put on a strict exercise regimen and diet. Staff found him hilariously trapped, his face crushed by a bright blue Crocs shoe. This proved that even cats have trouble dieting.
“Kurosik…he made a fuss and ran away today,” rehabilitation specialist Ekaterina Bedakova wrote in a post on Telegram.
“When we found him disguised as a slipper, he was very grumpy…but he calmed down after eating a little food.”
Crumbs' escape attempt also caused an uproar on social media.
Crumbs Cookie Chronicles: A Heavy Story
It's been quite a journey for Krams (named for his talent for devouring food), who was first discovered in the basement of a Russian hospital, according to the New York Post.
Staff reportedly fed the chubby pet a diet of cookies and soup, causing him to gain weight and be unable to walk.
Clan's new home has helped him lose nearly three-quarters of his weight, and he aims to get down to about 15 pounds. He will have a long journey to reach this goal and will need to lose about 150g each week.
Once you're close to your goal weight, you can start exercising appropriately to lose more weight. The shelter acknowledges that his treatment will be costly, but is committed to covering those costs.

Crumbs is big, but Himmy weighed 21.3kg.
Crumbs may be a big cat, but he's not the heaviest cat in the world. That title belongs to Himmy, an Australian cat who weighs a whopping 21.3kg.
Sadly, Himie passed away in 1986 at the age of 10. Himmy was so large that his owner, Thomas Weiss, had to use a wheelbarrow to transport him.
After Himmy's death, Guinness World Records decided to discontinue the record for heaviest cat to prevent owners from overfeeding their cats in order to break Himmy's record.
