Dante was nominated for his outstanding work on SABC 2's Hectic Nine-9.
Television presenter and radio personality Dante Poole has been nominated for the first time in the Best Television Presenter category (based on public voting) at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA).
The 26-year-old is nominated along with Rakonko, Devi Sankali Govender, Mpho Pops Modikoan and Nomalanga Shoji.
In an interview with The Citizen, Poole said the nomination meant a lot to him both personally and professionally.
“It's been an incredible rollercoaster of emotions and I'm extremely honored by this recognition. It's a great reminder that your dreams truly have no limits.
“Being recognized by SAFTA is great proof that I am exactly where I should be, and for that I am forever grateful,” he said.
He emphasized that this recognition serves as an inspiration to other young dreamers.
“This nomination is not just for me; it is for every young person in this country who has the courage to dream. This victory will be theirs.
“I want young people to know that their dreams are limitless. To all the boys and girls of color out there, why should it happen to you when it could happen to me?” I want you to know that it won't happen.”

Pool TV history
Poole's TV career began in 2018 at the age of 19, when she landed her first major role on a children's TV show. busy with 3 At SABC3.
“I've been working in the industry for seven years and I absolutely love television.
“I always connect with my viewers and remind them that through truth, love, and kindness, people have the ability to make the world a better place, even if you can change just one person's life. “I always wanted to be a TV host who would be able to do it that day,” he said.
Besides television, Poole has also made a name for himself in radio, working as an on-air and digital correspondent for Cape Town-based station KFM 94.5 since 2021.
“Radio has kept me busy for the past three years. I am the on-air correspondent and digital correspondent for commercial radio station KFM 94.5.
“I have big dreams for radio and can't wait to see where the journey takes me. It's been a happy few years making my dreams come true.”
Future plans
Mr. Poole hopes to explore new opportunities in the lifestyle television space.
“I just finished season 17.” Hectic Nine-9 We look forward to seeing new and exciting TV shows on SABC 2.
“I want to host a lifestyle show that informs and entertains while uplifting people,” he explained.
Additionally, Poole stated that she is keen to pursue acting and has already auditioned for various film and television projects.
“I've always had a passion for the big screen and I'm excited to see where that path takes me,” he said.
