Chris Brown was called up by the South African organization after filling FNB Stadium in two hours.
The Women For Change organization has launched a petition against the American singer, citing his history as an abuser.
WFC is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 that defends the constitutional rights of women and children in South Africa. WFC educates, advocates and campaigns on gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), human rights and gender equality every day.
The group called on people on Twitter to sign a petition to prevent the musician from coming to South Africa.
“Women For Change Call to concert organizers @bigconcertsPromoter, South African Government @HomeAffairsSA @Leon_Schreib “We will reconsider our decision to allow Chris Brown to perform in Johannesburg on December 14, 2024,” the tweet read.
As of today, Tuesday, more than 15,000 South Africans have signed the petition.

Hello, I just want to say that Chris Brown is violent. You can go and enjoy his show (that's your prerogative), but you can spend your money supporting a violent and abusive man who has harmed multiple women (and men). It doesn't change the fact that he used it 🤷🏾♀️ And your money and fandom empower him to escape responsibility.

No matter what deranged hate feminists say, Chris Brown's concert in SA must take place
His biggest crime was defending himself from violent Rihanna
She started getting violent and he retaliated. That means they fought and he won. Still, apologies and executions continued… pic.twitter.com/Rc0mnOXjrY

Yes, as a matter of fact, I don't want a known abuser like Chris Brown to perform in my country. Signed! https://t.co/BWa4JxPq33 pic.twitter.com/3GHOolrlLU
