The South African actress has been on a healing journey since divorcing her husband after claiming he had abused her.
On her 36th birthday, Dennis shared a video of herself celebrating with friends.
The star further captioned the post with words, detailing her experiences over the years.
Zimba spoke about her struggle with separation from her marriage and the loss of her family, whom she cherished for many years.
“The best thing I could have done for myself was to walk away. In this past year alone, I have lost a family that I gave so much of myself to…I have lost close friends to a level that I cannot understand. I was betrayed by…the people I loved the most and who closed my heart abandoned me and didn't choose me…I was lied to and everything I built for myself… Stripped…and now I have to start from scratch,” she wrote.
Despite everything he's been through, Dennis Zimba is grateful.
“Still…I thank God for all of it! I am blessed with another year of life and it reminds me that life is truly precious and that I can always start over and try again. I'm excited to do things differently and not let myself down again. My daughters deserve a thriving mother who respects herself enough to do right by herself. . I feel free and liberated,” she added.
