Mia Le Roux has withdrawn from the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.
The 28-year-old, who was crowned this year's Miss South Africa, was set to represent her country on the world stage, but had to withdraw due to health issues.
Hours before the 73rd Miss Universe was crowned, the Miss South Africa organization released a statement regarding Mia's resignation.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Miss South Africa 2024, Mia Le Roux, has had to withdraw from the Miss Universe pageant due to health concerns.”
Le Roux would like to express his gratitude for the support and opportunity.
Mia le Roux said: “I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support from South Africa during my time as Miss Universe. Knowing the dreams and aspirations that were placed on me, this decision was incredibly difficult to make. However, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so that I can continue to serve my country to the best of my ability.”
The Miss South Africa Organization said: “Mia has shown incredible courage and grace throughout this difficult time. Her health and well-being is our top priority and we stand by her side.” , we are dedicated to ensuring she regains her strength and returns to full health. Our hearts are with her as she takes the necessary steps toward recovery.”
