Singer-songwriter Bobby Van Jaarsveld and his wife Anatsie have announced that they are separating after 13 years of marriage.
The couple, who married in 2011, shared the news in a joint statement that Bobby posted to his Instagram on Sunday morning.
In a statement written in Afrikaans, Bobby explained that after much consideration, they both agreed to end their marriage.
“Today I want to share some sad news: Unconditional love can sometimes look different than what we expect.
“After careful consideration, Anna and I have made the most difficult decision of our lives to end our marriage. This decision was not made lightly, but it was in the best interest of both of us. I believe it is a step forward.”

Bobby and Annazie talk about co-parenting
Bobby and Annaji said they are committed to raising their children together.
“We have shared many wonderful moments together and will continue to love and care for each other. God has blessed us with three beautiful children and they will always be with me. It is our top priority.”
Despite their separation, the couple said they are dedicated to raising their children with love and care.
“Although our relationship as husband and wife has come to an end, we are committed to raising our children together as friends and with the same love we always had.”
In closing their statement, the couple expressed their gratitude for the love and support they have received.
It added: “As a family, we ask that you be respected during this difficult time so that we can each walk our separate paths to healing.”
