But South African teachers are winning hearts across the country by remembering all their students' names and showing their love.
Jennifer Norman's TikTok video, posted two days ago and with over 1 million views, proves that love and connection can transform a classroom into a space of belonging and joy.
In the video, Jennifer can be seen crouching on the ground with her back to the children as they line up to take their turns and test the teacher.
“Hello, teacher, what is my name?”
The children took turns saying, “Hello, teacher, what is my name?” Jennifer identifies them by their voice alone.
Jennifer struggled with some of the children, but asked them to repeat the phrase before finally getting the name right.
TikTok users are sharing their love and appreciation for Jennifer.

“Even though she didn't recognize their voices at first, she wants to touch and feel their hands,” she wrote, posting love and heart emojis.
