Serious rifts have emerged in the leadership list of the ANC Youth League, which was elected unopposed at a conference in July last year.
However, league president Collen Malatsi denied allegations that the organization was split into two camps, one led by himself and the other led by the league secretary general.
According to league sources, Malatsi, vice-chairman Phumzile Mgushina and treasurer Zwelo Masilela will be responsible for managing secretary-general Mntwasholo Ngudulu and his two deputy Tsakane Sivitu and Olga Seate. It is said that they have signed an “agreement'' that weakens them.
Mr Malatsi said there was no conflict between him and Mr Ndulu and that the leadership as a whole had a good relationship.
He said the rumors were started by people who wanted to see the youth league leadership split.
“These are not new things. We've heard such opinions before, from people who said when we were elected that we would be split within six months. has been so far [leading] It's been over a year and I'm about to end it. [the term]” said Malatsi.
He said youth league officials run a “very tight ship” and that his relationship with Ngdol was not strained.
Mr Ngdulu was given the responsibility of running the organization and his job was to provide political direction to the league, while Mr Masilela was responsible for bringing in the funds.

He and Ngdol were scheduled to travel to Venezuela, but it was decided that the secretary-general would remain to “manage the organization.”
Malatsi said the youth league's leadership was “a threat” to many because it was “strong” and moving towards achieving its goals, but he did not elaborate. .
He threatened to expel Youth Federation members who continued to disrupt a branch general meeting in Gauteng as it prepares for its first regional meeting since 2014, and threatened to call in the police if there was any violence before the meeting. Ta.

Youth League officials said members were being used to disrupt a branch meeting held at the Meadowlands in Soweto last Saturday, with one member allegedly taken hostage.
