South African superstar Tyra continues to make waves on the global stage, achieving numerous musical milestones.
The 22-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer has been nominated in eight categories at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), which will be held in Los Angeles on December 12th.
Tyra has been recognized in several prestigious categories including Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, and Top Afrobeats Artist.
Her self-titled debut album was nominated for Top R&B Album, with hit singles water It was nominated for the Top R&B Song Award.
In the Top Afrobeat Songs category, she made a strong impression with three single entries: water, Truth or Dare? and jumpfeaturing Gunna and Skillibeng.
Topping the list of nominees is Zach Bryan with 21 nominations in 18 categories, followed closely by Taylor Swift with 17 nominations in 16 categories.
Tyra is tied for third place with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and Teddy Swims, who received eight nominations.

This year, Tyra reached the pinnacle of her career with multiple milestones, including multiple MTV EMAs, Grammy Awards, and MTV VMA wins.

Earlier this week, Spotify announced that Tyra's self-titled album was ranked in the top 10 most streamed female albums of 2024, coming in at number 9. chart data.
The album reached 1 billion streams on the same music streaming platform in June of this year.

Before the tour, she will make a special appearance at Coke Studios in Johannesburg on December 4th, where she will perform live for the first time her new single 'Tears', which was created in collaboration with Coke Studios.
