The minister kept his promise to buy tickets for Makhaji's one-man show.
Multi-award-winning musician Makazi has thanked Minister for Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie for his support ahead of her upcoming one-woman show.
After promising to buy 200 tickets in October this year, the minister went beyond his promise and bought 600 tickets.

“We are very grateful to Minister Gayton McKenzie for his support,” Mr Makazi said. The Citizen.
“I feel that people believe in me. When ministers and politicians start getting involved with your work, it means they see value in you as an artist.
“For me, this show should be successful because everyone believes in it. That gives me hope.”
Makazi's one-man show: A dream come true
To promote the show, Makhadzi hosted a press conference on Friday at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, where the concert will be held on December 21.
She shared that she has been working on putting on this kind of show for a long time and is excited for it to finally happen.
“I applied about four or five years ago, but they didn’t want to give me a stadium, so I went to Botswana and filled a stadium with my first one-woman show.
“I thought, if I can fill a stadium in Botswana, where most people don't understand Chivenda, why not do the same thing back home?”
She said her experience at the BET Awards in Los Angeles earlier this year inspired her vision for the show.
“While in L.A., I saw world-class staged performances and imagined myself doing the same. I wanted to be the first person to bring such a piece home.
“I posted on social media that I was doing a show at Peter Mokaba Stadium without consulting anyone. They called me and asked what was going on, so I went back and I said I would talk to you.
“Fortunately, everyone was excited because I won the award. They said yes and gave me the stadium.”

Makhadzi Entertainment manager Lucky Tshilimandila said: The Citizen They are confident that Makhadzi will fill the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“They advised us that even though the stadium has a capacity of 42,500 people, we can only sell 32,000 tickets. Ground tickets are already sold out. We are confident that this will happen, and we are preparing for it.
“We are calling this show a history-making event. It is the first of its kind at Peter Mokaba Stadium led by artists from Polokwane, and specifically from Venda.”
