African National Congress (ANC) vice-president Paul Mashatile has confirmed that the party's provincial executive committee in KwaZulu-Natal will not be dissolved.
Mr Mashatile was addressing a crowd at Kwampuumza in Pietermaritzburg as part of his campaign for a by-election scheduled for next week.
Mr Mashatil said it was time for a recovery as KwaZulu-Natal was not the only province where support for the ANC had declined in the May 29 general election.
“We don't want to blame KZN or the GP, it's a reflection of ourselves as national leaders. We want to use this period not to blame each other, but to heal and restore the land lost. I know a lot of people are saying we're calling KZN because we want to disband PEC, but that's not the case. We're not breaking up. We're working on a plan.”
