Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has accused former president Jacob Zuma of “abusing black solidarity”. His comments followed the departure of EFF executives, including former vice-president Floyd Shivambu and former chairman Dali Mpofu, who joined Zuma's Umkhonto Wisizwe (MK) party.
The party is currently hosting its third electoral conference in Nasrec, Johannesburg. Mr Malema said the theme of the party's Third National People's Congress was to “defend, rebuild and advance the struggle for economic freedom”.
Malema questions Zuma's commitment to black consciousness during his tenure as state president.
“You, the representatives, must ask yourself where was this black consciousness and black unity when the Marikana workers were murdered…The so-called new leaders of black unity were the state president? Their blood nourished the birth of this economic liberation movement, while the murders of the Marikana miners, all of whom were black, by the way, were ensconced and even justified. Was the need for Black Unity non-existent when young people in this country were imprisoned and murdered for demanding free education under the new savior of Black Unity? ”

“Ending the occupation of Palestine”
Malema also called on Israel to end its occupation of Palestine.
After Hamas launched attacks on Israel more than a year ago, Israel launched airstrikes and a ground invasion of Gaza.
Malema argues that Israel should also not be allowed to participate in international sports.
“Fighters, the 2nd NPA enjoins us to continue to call for an end to apartheid Israel's occupation of Palestine. We demand the complete isolation of Israel by South Africa. In all international organizations, apartheid Israel is They should not be allowed to participate in international sporting platforms such as the Cup, the Olympics, or other international sporting norms.
