Julius Malema beams with pride as his youngest son Ratanan completes his studies with a bachelor's certificate.
Proud father and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to congratulate his eldest son Mushavi Ratanan Malema on his maths achievements.
Ratanan, 18, shares his father's passion for DJing and spent his college years earning a bachelor's degree.

An elated Malema shared a photo of his son on his Instagram Stories, hinting at a night of constant celebration in the caption of the post.
“Look at this amazing bachelor. [sic]. We are right in the middle of it. I can't sleep tonight. Congratulations, boy. ”
St. David's Marist Inanda: 100% Mathematics Pass Rate
Ratanan attended St. David's Marist Inanda, an exclusive private boys' Catholic school in Johannesburg.
This private school achieved a 100% university acceptance rate, with 99% of students achieving a 'baccalaureate pass'.
According to the school's fee structure, Malema spent a total of R170,000 for his son's school year, or roughly R16,000 per month.
“My son doesn't have a public school.”
In 2014, when Ratanan was just eight years old, Malema reportedly said: times live He said he plans to continue sending his son to private school unless a law is passed forcing public representatives to use public facilities.
“We want our schools and hospitals to be upgraded…If our legislators don't use them, they'll never be of high quality,” he said at the time.
“If those in power aren't educating us, why should I give my child a bad education?”

Mr Ratanan is the eldest son of the 43-year-old politician and his former partner Maropeng Ramohale.
Malema has two other sons, Munjezi, 8, and Kopano, 6, with his wife Mantwa Matlala, whom he married in 2014.
EFF leader calls son Ratanan an 'inspiration'
Ratanan (also known as “Rati”) turned 18 on October 14 last year, and in a birthday post on his Instagram, Malema credited his eldest son with motivating him and persevering through difficult times.
“Whenever I felt like giving up, I looked at you and my grandmother and found the strength to keep going. You, along with your brothers and the boys' mother, are my inspiration.
“Please remain disciplined and respectful. Always greet everyone in the room, regardless of age or social status. I love you and good luck on your exams.”
Class of 2024: Mathematics passing rate record
Of course, EFF leaders aren't the only proud parents who celebrate their children's hard work and determination to have a successful final year.
The Independent Examinations Board (IEB) achieved an impressive pass rate of 98.47%, the highest in the last five years. In 2023, we achieved a pass rate of 98.46%.
Compared to public schools, it boasts a record national pass rate of 87.3%, the highest in the country since the dawn of democracy. The pass rate in 2023 was 82.9%.
