This was followed by a period of Dutch dominance. Bente van der Veld remained alert in front of the Indian goal and his quick overhead shot evaded the Indian defense and went into the net.
With four minutes remaining in the first half, Lana Calce pounced on a loose ball and fired a powerful shot to give the Netherlands a 4-0 lead.
Moments later, Sorcha Beninga extended the lead further with a deft touch past Rajani inside the goal.
As the Netherlands continued to put pressure on the Indian defense, Janeke van de Vennes took advantage of the gap and scored, making the first half 6-0 in favor of the Dutch.
The Netherlands' dominance continued in the second half, resulting in a challenge that was saved by Rajani.
India took the lead five minutes into the second half when Jyoti found space and fired a shot from distance that beat Dutch goalkeeper Kiki Ganeman.
Lutuya then received the ball while under pressure and turned on a sixpence to beat the Dutch goal and make it 6-2.
As India started to increase the pressure, Netherlands' Rana Kalse scored in a quick counter-attack to restore their five-goal cushion.
The Indians continued to try Dutch goaltender Kiki Ganeman, but were unable to beat her.
Netherlands were awarded a penalty stroke in the final moments of the match and Rajani saved the chance, but it was too late.
