Fans of AKA (real name Keenan Forbes) hope he receives the ultimate birthday present: justice for murder.
On Sunday, January 28, the late rapper's friends and family celebrated what would have been his 36th birthday.
Almost a year ago, the entertainer was shot dead in Durban by an unknown assailant, reportedly a hired hit man. Forbes and his friend Thebelo Tibbs Motsoane were shot dead on February 10, 2023.

My birthday comes a few weeks before the murder.
On social media, AKA's family and friends posted sweet birthday wishes in memory of her.
However, behind the bittersweet celebration was the tragic fact that the star's murderer has still not been caught.
For fans of “Mega Sea” shared on the X platform: “Happy Birthday Keenan Forbes. Keep fighting for justice wherever you are.”

On Friday night, February 0, the rapper was dining with a group of friends ahead of a scheduled performance at club YuGo in Durban.
However, the star barely made it out of the restaurant when he was hit by a hail of bullets. The incident was recorded on surveillance camera footage.

Did Aka know his killer?
In December, Police Minister Bheki Cele claimed that AKA's killers were “inside” people.
Speaking to Metro FM's Faith Mangope, Cele claimed that police are still gathering information from two witnesses who are currently under police protection.

Cele continued: “Let me end it with that. But like you said, I think it's enough for the public to understand that we're getting close. [to solving the case]”
