The monarch, wearing a suit and black overcoat, waved to the crowd as he and Queen Camilla, 76, emerged from a central London facility and got into a waiting car.
His departure came hours after Kensington Palace announced that Prince William's daughter-in-law, Duchess Kate, whose husband is heir to the throne, had also left the palace earlier this month after undergoing abdominal surgery.
It is unclear exactly when the 42-year-old princess was discharged from hospital, but her office said she was “recovering well” and beginning what could be months of home recovery.
Their absence has created front-line staffing shortages within an already slimmed-down monarchy, with Prince William also postponing royal duties to be by his wife's side and Duchess Camilla stepping down as the most visible working royal. Ta.

Prince Charles, who became king after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, is generally in good health, apart from injuries sustained while playing polo and skiing.
The Palace announced on January 17 that he would undergo “corrective surgery” for enlarged prostate the following week, and was admitted to hospital last Friday.
In an update, Prince Charles announced that he spent three nights in hospital but had changed his future plans “due to a period of personal recuperation.”

No updates on his medical condition have been released, but he was said to be doing “well” over the weekend.
“His Majesty would like to thank the medical team and all those involved who supported the hospital visit. He also appreciates all the kind messages he has received over the past few days,” the statement said.
Charles wanted to share his case to raise awareness of the condition, which is common in men over 50 and affects urination.
Symptoms include frequent trips to the bathroom and difficulty emptying the bladder completely.
The announcement led to a surge in internet searches for the term “enlarged prostate” on the National Health Service (NHS) website.
Meanwhile, a statement from Kensington Palace said the Duchess was treated in hospital about two weeks ago and has now returned to her home in Windsor, west London, to continue her recovery.
Duchess Kate and Prince William sent a “huge thank you” to hospital staff and said the family “continues to be grateful for the well wishes we have received from around the world.”

Kensington Palace did not provide further details about her surgery, but stressed that her condition was not related to cancer.
