You may remember that the 2024 SASSA Superannuation Increase came into force on 1 October 2023. That was 18 weeks ago and meant an increase of R10 over the course of 2024. Presumably, the Security Service will meet again in October this year, until a new increase is made by the South African Social Services Agency.

We are well aware that a R10 increase in superannuation in 2024 is not a huge amount in this economy. But for a senior citizen on a government subsidy that covers 60% of his income, every rand and cent is behind a “January worry”.
Old age pension will increase towards 2024
To summarize, your old age pension in 2024 will increase according to your take-home pay. R2 090 This applies to people between the ages of 60 and 74.and R2 110 Monthly fee for pensioners aged 75 and over.

Plan 3 months ahead
Applications for the 2024 SASSA Pension Grant may take more than three months to process. However, if you are accepted for a SASSA grant, you will receive retroactive funding from the time you applied.

SASSA grants for pensioners can be received in the following ways:
- Through facilities such as nursing homes.
- You pay in cash at a pre-selected payment point on a pre-determined date.
- Electronic deposit to the bank of your choice (normal bank charges apply).
- You can also assign someone a power of attorney to receive your SASSA grant.

- Friday, February 2, 2024.
- Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
- Wednesday, April 4, 2024.
The Social Security Administration is reminding beneficiaries that it may take two to three days for payments to appear.
