Gusina Mkhize expressed gratitude for the help she received from South Africans after losing her home.
The South African actress has requested assistance after falling behind on payments after her home was auctioned.
People rallied in support of her and she raised more than R20,000 in donations.
“I want to thank everyone who donated to our BackaBuddy campaign. I also want to thank those who deposited money into my personal account. Every dollar makes such a difference in our lives. My children and I are truly grateful. We are so grateful for everyone's kindness,” she said.
“Eugene Mthethwa stepped in and another person in the ANC offered to assist with the investigation. Colleagues in the industry have reached out and some have given us monetary donations. Stone fieldwas also one of the first people to get in touch when the story broke and donated R2,000.”
“I was also contacted by other industry friends including Celeste Ntuli, Nomzamo Mbatha, Puleng Ndlovu, Letha M, Angie Sekgobane, Honey Tshabalala, Nomonde Mvusi, Muzi Mutabela, Khanyo Maphumulo and Bongani Gumede. There are so many, I may have missed some. They have been so supportive.”
“There were other people who offered to help but it's hard to remember them all. I spoke to a lot of people but it's hard to remember them all. Neighbours and people I grew up with in Protea Glen also offered all the help they could.”
Gusina said he still plans to fight for his home.
