Actress Nomvelo Makhanya set to release new song
former scandal! Actress Nomvelo Makhanya talks about her newly embarked career as a DJ.
The star joins the ranks of actresses-turned-DJs Pearl Thusi and Turisile Phongolo.
Away from acting, Nombelo has a professional name for her music career. Mbelo.
“I started off as a DJ. I was trying to record my own vocals in the studio and then I wanted to get things sorted in the studio so I started taking DJ classes with Lebza The Villain and learning from different people. I was part of Soulistic and managed them but then we parted ways,” Makhanya told TshishaLIVE in a recent interview.
“It was something I had to do personally for myself. I needed to get away from that kind of work and get away from the roles and focus on music. But I'm back auditioning. I miss acting. I'm hoping something happens.”
“Music inspires me, [it] “It doesn't matter if I'm singing, acting or DJing, I am healing people through it. My acting talent will heal people at home and educated audiences. The same is true with my music and DJ career. It's the same energy I'm delivering.”
Nombelo said she plays Afrotech and Afrohouse and also urged her supporters to look forward to her upcoming music releases.
