Actress and media personality Amanda Dupont emotionally reacted to GBV concerns related to Tariq Jafta and his wife Alisha (formerly known as Danika).
Tariq, the younger brother of Instagram influencer Nadia Jafta, has been at the center of controversy in recent days amid allegations of domestic violence against his three wives. Danica's girlfriend's family now believes she is being held under compulsion and have spoken out about their fight to be reunited with her.
Friends and family of Tariq Jafsa's wife speak out
In an Instagram Live on Saturday, February 24, the family of Alisha Jafta, aka Danika, shared their concerns about reuniting with her husband, Tariq.
Her friend Kathy said Danica contacted her last week about plans to “escape” from Tariq. The mother of five managed to escape in the middle of the night.
However, Kathy claimed that Tariq came to pick up Danica the next day and later advised her to intervene.
Danica's emotional mother also took part in the IG Live.
She cried and said: We know we can get you and your children back. We’re going to fight for you.”
Danika and Tariq have repeatedly insisted on social media that there is no cause for concern. They also refuted claims made by her family.
Danika's family said Tariq's other two wives were also at risk and “being indoctrinated.”
Amanda Dupont's reaction
Amanda Dupont took to Instagram to share an emotional response to the concerns of Tariq Jafta's wives.
In response to Danica's brother Dale, she posted: We just want you to know that your family gives us hope for change. Many of us prayed for help, but no one came. Not everyone is alive to say this.
She continued: “Love heals and God saves. Please pray with me. Please support me anyway so we can get Danica back and help the rest of the women live through this nightmare.”
Amanda is one of four women charged with rape, attempted murder and assault against singer and Uyajola 9/9 host Jubu Jubu.
