AKA's father Tony Forbes has broken his silence on the disturbing video of his son and his fiancée Anele 'Neri' Tembe.
But Tony says there is “another side to this story” that he hopes will be released soon.
Almost a year ago, the rapper (real name Keenan Forbes) was shot dead by a hired hitman in Durban. In 2021, Tembe died after falling from the 10th floor of a hotel in Cape Town.
For several months, AKA faced allegations of physical and mental abuse against Tembe. He was also accused of being involved in her death, but he vehemently denied the allegations.

Watch AKA and ANELE TEMBE's video again
After his death in February 2023, social media users rewatched videos of the couple's tumultuous relationship.
In the clip, a distraught Anele Tembe is seen being consoled by a rapper friend who is nowhere to be seen. She cried and said to her friend: “You don't know what he's doing to me.”
Another damning video, allegedly shot by AKA, shows Anele crying on the floor of her hotel room. The room was visibly ransacked after a heated argument between the couple.
AKA can be heard saying, “When I go to court, I want people to see this.”

In another Twitter post, the tweeters revisit the now-viral image of an enraged AKA breaking down a door to gain access to the bedroom where Anele was allegedly hiding.
Another image allegedly leaked by Neri's family after her death shows a young woman icing her bruised face after an argument with Neri.
A month after her death, in an interview with Bar Leader TV, AKA admitted that his relationship with Anele was “toxic” but “passionate.”

Tony Forbes hints at 'Another Side'
Tony Forbes addressed the viral video and images of AKA and Anele Tembe on Bakoe Entertainment's podcast.
In it, he appeared to defend his son, claiming there was more to it than meets the eye.
He said, “There's context, so when you watch the video of him breaking down the door, it doesn't show what happened before or after, so you don't know what happened.'' You never know. What was made public was so one-sided that he refused to talk about his side until his death.”

Tony claimed AKA accepted that Anele “had issues” but did not want to “disrespect her memory”.
He added: “The other side of the story will be told as part of the inquest into Anele's death.”
And Tony hinted that Anele wasn't the only one suffering in silence.
He continued: “There were other incidents. There was also a photo of Mr. Keenan with a bruise under his eye. Could that have gotten in?'' sunday worldWe didn't do that and Mr. Keenan respected Annele even after she died, so he wasn't going to do it himself.?
“Of course he had his flaws.[But] It’s an unfair situation.”
