Ama Kamata has taken to social media to express her feelings following the death of her mother-figure Connie Chiume.
The veteran actress was announced to have passed away on Tuesday in a Johannesburg hospital.
Ama took to Instagram to share a photo that illustrates the sweet bond she shares with the 72-year-old.
Ama Kamata also wrote a moving note paying tribute to the legend and talking about the impact she has had on him.
“It's been such a difficult day. I can't comprehend everything that has happened in the last 24 hours. How do I say goodbye when I'm not ready? Words can't even begin to describe the woman you were, the light you carried, and the love you selflessly showered on all of us.”
“I had the honor of playing Mum Connie's granddaughter in Gomorrah. She played that role across the screen and was always checking in on us, being the first to congratulate us on our accomplishments, correcting us when we were wrong, and sometimes even bringing baked goods to the set.”
“Mom, you will be truly missed. Thank you for all you did. I am so honored to have experienced the magic of the legendary Connie Kiume. I love you. Rest in eternal peace. My deepest condolences to the Kiume family. Thank you for sharing her with us,” Ama wrote.
