Former African National Congress (ANC) president and current Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) leader Jacob Zuma is expected to be brought before a disciplinary hearing next Tuesday.
This was made clear in the notification of decision document by the ANC's National Disciplinary Commission (NDC).
In a notice dated April 24, 2024, Zuma was informed that he had been charged with two offences.
“Former ANC President Zuma was arrested on 16 December 2023 for two reasons: his public support for the newly formed Umkhonto we Sizwe Party (MK Party) and his appearance on the MK Party’s candidate list. , accused of violating the ANC constitution. Mr Zuma can be represented at the hearing by any ANC member in good standing.
Earlier this year, ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula told an ANC conference that the ANC intends to call former ANC president Zuma to a disciplinary hearing after he was effectively disqualified for supporting the Umkhonto Wisizwe party. He said no.
