Fraudi Motsoneng, leader of the African Content Movement (ACM), says the ruling party's grip on voters is due to social grants. Mr Motsonen stressed that people need to be employed and paid better salaries. It is not sustainable for society as a whole to depend on social subsidies, he says.
Speaking during the launch of the party's implementation plan in Kwakwa, Free State, Mr Motsoneng promised voters what they would get if they voted him into government.
Motsonen says it's up to voters to decide whether to vote for hunger and lies or for life.
Casting shade on the ANC, which he says has been selling lies to residents for years, he says his party is proposing action and change. Motsoneng believes that all of South Africa's social ills stem from high unemployment.
ACM leaders said the country needs investors to stimulate the economy and help create jobs. And this can only be achieved when the basics such as roads, electricity, and water supply are in place.
Motsonen elaborates. “What we have to do in South Africa is bring in investors. You know the solution for South Africa is to bring in investors, both domestic and foreign. How do we bring them in, electricity, We have to build water, roads. If we do that, investors will flee to South Africa.”
ACM supporters say they see Motsonen as a sympathetic leader. They believe that because he is from Kwakwa, he can understand their suffering.
They said:
“I trust and believe in our leader. He has shown he can get it done.”
“Our president is a real man and a man of his word. I know he will deliver on what he promises.”
“He is a son born in Kwakwa. We are facing many challenges right now. I say to everyone that this is the right time. Please go on the 29th.”
ACM asked the public for three years to fulfill its promise. Party leaders have vowed to resign if they fail to deliver results.
“In my case, I deal with the budget for six months, and then what else do I do? I just implement, I don't really consult. We can't even discuss whether there is electricity or not.”
Mr Motsonen promised that under his leadership, each district would have a factory that would employ both educated and uneducated people.
