In 2022, Apple filed a lawsuit against startup Rivos. According to Reuters, the lawsuit alleges that over the course of a year, Rivos hired more than 40 former Apple employees to work on developing competing system-on-chip technology, and that “at least two former Apple engineers worked on Gigabyte-scale “He stole confidential information.” Ribos. ”
But on Friday, Bloomberg reported that the companies told the judge that they had “signed an agreement that could potentially resolve the case.”
“The agreement provides for the remediation of Apple's confidential information based on forensic examination of the Rivos system and other activities,” according to a filing in federal court in San Jose, California. “The parties are currently moving forward with that process.”

Apple also accused the defendants of directing hired employees to steal presentations and other confidential information about unreleased iPhone chip designs that cost billions of dollars to develop. Mr. Ribos filed a countersuit against Apple last year, accusing it of restricting employees' ability to work elsewhere and using anticompetitive measures to hinder the growth of emerging startups.
The court dismissed Apple's trade secret claims against Rivos in April 2023, but the company was allowed to file an amended complaint. Apple has already settled with six former employees who, along with Ribos, filed counterclaims against the iPhone maker after they dropped their claims against each other last month.
The companies are now asking the court to put the case on hold until March 15, when the settlement is expected to be finalized.
