PADUCAH — Baptist Health Paducah will host a World Cancer Day resource fair at the hospital's Ray and Kay Eckstein Regional Cancer Care Center on Monday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Invite the community.
The resource fair is designed to provide education about locally available cancer prevention, detection and patient support resources, according to a news release from Baptist Health Paducah.
“We work with local organizations to support those who have battled cancer, those who are currently battling cancer, and those who will someday,” said Mike Tuter, Executive Director of Oncology and Imaging Services at Baptist Health Paducah. Event attendees can tour the Baptist Health Resource Room, which features wigs, prosthetics, bras, and related items. At noon, Baptist Health Paducah radiation oncologist Dr. Peter Locken will speak. The event will also feature an information booth with demonstrations, samples and educational materials.
Representatives from several organizations will be in attendance to provide insight and support, including:
- A Baptist Health Cancer Navigator will answer your questions and schedule your annual exam.
- The McCracken County Extension Office shares nutritional recipes and samples with people fighting cancer.
- The Kentucky Cancer Program will provide educational materials.
- MedCare is here to discuss resources and answer your insurance questions.
- Demonstration of lymphedema arm massage.
- Provides information about resources provided by the McCracken County Health Department.

It is a global initiative calling for people to improve their health and reduce disparities in cancer morbidity and mortality.
